Clearfield well-represented at Clarion All-Star games
Monday, April 06, 2009
CLARION - Three Clearfield basketball standouts participated in the ninth annual Clarion County YMCA Sportsmanship I All-Star games on Saturday at Clarion High School, with the Lady Bisons' Annie Janocko helping to lead the South squad to a 76-73 victory in the girls' contest.

Janocko scored seven points as her team pulled off a comeback victory. The Clearfield senior hit a 3-pointer with less than four minutes to play to pull her squad within one, before knocking down a bucket to put the South ahead for good with 2:30 to go.

Seniors Matt Shiner and Jeremy Priester represented the Bisons in the boys' game, scoring 12 and eight points, respectively, in a losing effort. The North team was victorious 89-72.

The sharp shooting Shiner was named the winner of the halftime 3-point shooting contest.
