State police form task force to investigate fires

PUNXSUTAWNEY - The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop C, Punxsutawney Fire Investigators are heading up a task force to investigate a number of fires that have occurred in and around southern Clearfield County. Because of the number of fires that have been ruled arson and the fact that a firefighter lost his life while fighting a fire in Westover Borough, investigators are employing all the resources available to them.
One resource that has been put into use is the implementation of a tip line that can be called to report any information relative to these fires.
People with information can call 1-888-727-6542. If the information delivered leads to the arrest and conviction of the people committing these crimes, that person will be eligible for a substantial reward.
