Brisbin fire under investigation Friday, November 06, 2009 BRISBIN - The investigation continues in an accidental fire that happened yesterday at a Princess Street residence in Brisbin. Houtzdale Fire Co. was dispatched to the structure fire that occurred between 3-8 a.m. Upon entering the residence, police found a marijuana growing operation. Cpl. Thomas Josephson, state police fire marshal, determined the fire began in the ceiling of the basement. The fire was ruled accidental due to electrical malfunction. Police seized 62 marijuana plants in varying stages of growth, numerous seedlings, drug manufacturing equipment and related items from the residence. The resident was reportedly in California at the time of the fire. Damage is estimated at approximately $40,000. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 857-3800.
