Fugitive of the Week
Tuesday, May 18, 2010
Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced that Clearfield County's Fugitive of the Week is Natalie A. Kephart, 31, of Old Town Road, Clearfield.
Shaw stated that Kephart is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call Sept. 18, 2008.
On March 24, 2008, Patrolman Nathan Curry of the Clearfield Borough Police Department filed a criminal complaint charging Kephart with three counts of forgery, three counts of criminal attempt, two counts of theft by deception, three counts of identity theft, theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Curry states that at on March 21, 2008, Clearfield Borough police received a report of a theft from a resident living at Knickerbocker Villa. The victim reported that her checkbook was stolen from her purse. When the victim received her bank statement, the victim identified several transactions that were not authorized. Several of the checks were cashed at Walmart and the transactions were captured on security cameras. At the time of the thefts, Kephart was employed by Knickerbocker Villa. The total amount of loss exceeds $1,000.
A preliminary hearing was held April 9, 2008, at which time Kephart waived the charges to court. On Sept. 18, 2008, Kephart failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Kephart is described as a white woman, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 255 pounds with green eyes and brown hair.
Anyone with knowledge of Kephart's location is asked to call Clearfield County Crimestoppers at 1-800-376-4700.
