Fugitive captured
Thursday, February 3, 2011
Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced the capture of a wanted fugitive - Randy Gillen Jr., 24, of Clearfield.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 21, 2010, at which time all charges were held for court. On Jan. 27, Gillen failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Shaw stated that an anonymous tip to police provided the location of Gillen at a residence on Market Street, Clearfield. On Tuesday, officers of the Clearfield Borough Police Department and deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff's Office apprehended Gillen, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Shaw acknowledged that Gillen was located as a direct result of citizens willing to provide information to law enforcement.
Shaw thanked Clearfield Borough Police Department and the Clearfield County Sheriff's Office for their hard work and assistance with this case.
Anyone with knowledge of a fugitive's location is asked to call Clearfield County Crimestoppers at 1-800-376-4700.
All calls to Crimestoppers are confidential. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by visiting the Clearfield County District Attorney website at and selecting "Report A Crime."
