Woman arrested in drug bust
Friday, August 31, 2012
PHILIPSBURG - The State Police Troop G Vice and Narcotic Unit made a drug arrest Tuesday along the Benner Pike in College Township.
Police said they received information regarding individuals from the State College area traveling to Philadelphia to purchase heroin for resale in Centre County.
The troopers arranged to make a buy of heroin from one individual who was identified as Martina Lea Molek, 24, of Lewistown.
Police purchased four bags of heroin for $90 from Molek. After the purchase they remained at the scene and began to survey Molek, who entered a store along Benner Pike and upon exiting was approached by the troopers.
She was taken into custody and her vehicle was seized as part of the drug investigation. She was charged with delivery of heroin, possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of heroin.
Molek was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Thomas Jordan and bail was set at $25,000. Molek was then placed in Centre County Prison.
On Wednesday, police applied for and received a search warrant from Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair to search the Molek vehicle. The following items were seized: 138 bags of heroin, $694 in U.S. currency and drug paraphernalia.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be filed against Molek.
