No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday on Carbide Road in Pike Township in which Robert Gregory of Grampian was traveling west too fast for conditions when he attempted to make a right turn and slid across the roadway.
The left front of Gregory's vehicle struck the left front of a vehicle driven by Carol Elensky of Olanta who was traveling south on SR 3025 and approaching a stop sign. Gregory's vehicle came to rest on Carbide Road facing north, while Elensky's vehicle came to rest on the berm facing south.
On Saturday, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 in Cooper Township near mile marker 137 in which a New York man was traveling west in the right lane and noticed a vehicle in his blind spot when he began to merge into the left lane.
The man swerved back into the right lane, causing his vehicle to slide and rotate in a clockwise direction.
His vehicle slid off of the northern berm and into a ditch where it struck an embankment with its left side, overturned once and came to a final rest on its wheels along the berm facing north.
The man suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Clearfield Hospital by Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services.
Someone cut down three oak trees on private property along Twoey Hollow Road in Boggs Township between Dec. 9-16. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at 857-3800.
