GRASSFLAT - Cooper Township Board of Supervisors, at its meeting Thursday night, adopted a revised 2013 budget. Secretary/Treasurer Kate Roberts said the revised budget includes projected Act 13 revenue of $54,500 and is balanced at $478,475. The township received $64,158 in Act 13 money in 2012, she said.
The board voted to give annual contributions in the amount of $4,000 to Winburne and Grassflat Volunteer Fire Companies, Roberts said. It approved contributions of $500 for Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services, $100 for Clearfield County Bookmobile, and $100 for Clearfield County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, she said.
Three stone bids were awarded to Woodland Equipment & Supply. The company's bids for 1B stone, $13.45 per ton; 2RC, $9.40 per ton; and 2B, $12 per ton, were approved, Roberts said.
Residents are reminded the township's snow removal ordinance is in effect. Vehicles parked on township roadways or right-of-ways may be towed at the owners' expense, Roberts said. Violators may pay a fine of $35, she said.
The board transferred $3,312.59 from its general account to its pension fund to meet its current MMO requirement.
Gary Gable was reappointed to Cooper Township Municipal Authority for a 5-year term.
In other business, the supervisors approved a subdivision for Charlie Saggese and a road bond for JJ Araway Logging.
Cooper Township will hold its annual reorganization meeting Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. at the township building. Cooper Township's board of auditors will reorganize Jan. 8 at 7 p.m.
