State police at Clearfield
In a theft of services incident, someone used a Dumpster at a Berwind Street residence in Irvona to dispose of garbage between 4 p.m. Jan. 30 and 4 p.m. yesterday. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 857-3800.
The investigation continues after an Osceola Mills man stole four checks from an Osceola Mills woman between Jan. 25 and Friday, made them out to himself, and cashed two of them for a total of $500.

Lawrence Township
Police were canceled en route to a disabled vehicle report on Leonard Street.
The investigation continues after a reported theft from a construction site along Clover Hill.
A theft complaint at an area business was unfounded.
No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on state Route 879. Lawrence Township Fire Co. No. 1 assisted at the scene.
In a reported mail scam, a resident received a letter indicating they won the lottery and had to cash a check and return their money to obtain the winnings.
Assistance was given to another agency with collecting criminal history and criminal activity data.
Officers took part in a restitution hearing.
A stranded motorist was assisted by police.
Officers continue to work with other police agencies and the Secret Service regarding a counterfeit ring.

Sandy Township
On Friday, a DuBois man's vehicle struck a pole in the Walmart parking lot.
Someone broke into a soda machine at Save-A-Lot and took approximately $500 Friday.
No injuries were reported Friday when a DuBois man failed to stop and his vehicle struck a vehicle driven by a DuBois woman that was stopped at Industrial Drive and Bee Line Highway.
Officers handled a situation Friday in which a Scranton man became unruly with Hampton Inn employees because of the cost of a room.
No one was injured when a DuBois woman did not see a vehicle driven by a DuBois man stopped in traffic and her vehicle struck his vehicle.
Two dogs were found by TESI employees running in the Seals Cay Road area at Treasure Lake Friday.

The vehicle being driven erratically on Bee Line Highway Saturday was found in the Ruby Tuesdays parking lot, where officers spoke with the driver, a DuBois man, and found he was impaired.
He failed field sobriety testing, was taken into custody and transported to DRMC for chemical testing.
On Sunday, a vehicle driven by a New York man struck a snowplow while attempting to pass it while it was turning onto Kilmer Road.
The New York man's passenger suffered moderate injuries and was taken to DRMC.
A black vehicle slid off of Merris Avenue Sunday, destroyed several mailboxes and fled the scene.
Someone broke into a Clear Run Road man's garage and took a battery from his all-terrain vehicle, causing severe damage in the process.

State police at Philipsburg
The investigation continues after a mother allegedly provided urine from her teenage child to a Children and Youth Services official for a test Aug. 26.
On Saturday, an accident occurred when a driver lost control of their vehicle while traveling south on Interstate 99, it struck a guide rail, spun clockwise and came to rest in the southbound lane.
A Pittsburgh woman lost control of her vehicle on I-99 northbound Saturday, it struck the guide rail and came to rest in the emergency lane.
On Sunday, an East Berlin man lost control of his vehicle on I-99 on the snow-covered roads and it struck a brick rail on the west side of the road.

State police at Ridgway
During a traffic stop Sunday at 2:41 a.m. on SR 948, a Ridgway man was arrested for driving under the influence. Also, a passenger, a Coalport man, was arrested for underage drinking.
