Osceola Mills VFW holds meeting

OSCEOLA MILLS - Osceola Mills Veterans of Foreign Wars Osceola Memorial Post No. 5020 held its meeting at the post home Jan. 15. Commander James Rice opened the meeting with patriotic rituals.
The minutes of the November meeting and the current financial report were reviewed and accepted. Committee reports included updates on membership, the Adopt-a-Unit Program, Service Officer activities and the Buddy Poppy distribution program.
Final plans were discussed for attendance at the Department of Pennsylvania mid-winter meeting. Donations for homeless veterans will be taken to the department meeting.
The honor guard was thanked for its assistance with the continuing repairs of the post home.
The post and auxiliary are planning spaghetti dinners that will be open to the public Wednesday and March 6 and again on each first and third Wednesday at the Cantina through the spring months.
Osceola Memorial Post No. 5020 Ladies Auxiliary will hold its next meeting today at 7 p.m. The post will hold its next meeting tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the post home. Additional information about post activities can be obtained at 339-7578.
