Ramey man killed in crash Saturday

MADERA - Edwin Grannis, 72, of Ramey was killed in a two-vehicle accident Saturday at the intersection of Union and McCully streets in Bigler Township. According to state police in Clearfield, Grannis stopped at the stop sign on McCully Street but failed to see an oncoming International tri-axle truck, operated by Ethan Neville, 23, of Clearfield.
Neville's truck struck the Grannis vehicle on the driver's side door and pushed it into a stone wall where it came to rest blocking both lanes of traffic.
Grannis was transported to Clearfield Hospital by Ramey EMS but he died of his injuries.
Neville was not hurt.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Both vehicles had severe damage and had to be towed from the scene. Assisting at the scene was Ramey and Madera fire companies, Ramey EMS and the state Department of Transportation.
