State police at Punxsy
Yesterday at 6:20 a.m., a one-vehicle accident occurred in Henderson Township, Jefferson County, when Brion Pritts of Rockton was traveling west on U.S. Route 119. He failed to negotiate a slight left curve on the snow-covered road and his vehicle traveled onto the berm of state Route 410, struck a utility pole and continued west along a six-foot embankment for approximately 100 feet. It came to rest in the SR 410 westbound lane atop the embankment facing west. Pritts suffered minor injuries and was taken to Punxsutawney Area Hospital by a co-worker.

Sandy Township
No injuries were reported Friday when a vehicle stopped on Maple Avenue in the 10th Street area in front of a DuBois man, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. He veered off the road to avoid striking the other vehicle, and his vehicle traveled off the road and struck a tree.

On Saturday, a Reynoldsville woman pulled her vehicle out of a First Street driveway into the path of a police car, nearly causing a collision. Police pulled her over, she failed field sobriety tests and was taken to DuBois Regional Medical Center for a blood test.

No one was injured Saturday when a Falls Creek man lost control of his vehicle on Gamelands Road and it struck a tree.

Officers handled a situation Saturday in which a Central Christian Road woman reported her neighbor was plowing his driveway and putting snow in her driveway.

Walmart employees caught a Punxsutawney man, on video, pushing $340.58 in merchandise in a cart out the door without paying.

Treasure Lake Security reported someone spray painted obscenities on a Treasure Lake real estate sale sign Saturday.

Minor injuries were reported when a Punxsutawney woman's vehicle struck a deer on Sykes Street Extension Saturday, causing the back of it to be struck by a vehicle driven by a Penfield woman.

No injuries were reported Sunday when a Reynoldsville man was driving at an unsafe speed and was unable to negotiate a curve on Platt Road, his vehicle traveled off the road and into a swamp.

The investigation continues after an Osceola Mills man reported someone stole his PlayStation 3 and associated hardware and software.

A side-by-side utility terrain vehicle, operated by an unknown man with an unknown female passenger, went through the drive-through of McDonald's and fled from police. Police ask that anyone with information call them at 339-6775.

A one-vehicle accident occurred in Decatur Township in which a Sandy Ridge man was ejected from his vehicle when it overturned. He was flown to Altoona Regional Health System for treatment of injuries. Sandy Ridge Emergency Medical Services, Houtzdale/Ramey EMS, Hotuzdale Fire Co. and Columbia Fire Co. assisted at the scene.

Officers were called to a Decatur Township home for a report of a man and woman having a dispute, where they found he left for the night and assistance was no longer needed.

During a traffic stop in Osceola Mills, an Osceola Mills man was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for driving under the influence.

The investigation continues after someone reported an underage Osceola Mills male was in possession of several bottles of whiskey, which police located.

Someone entered a woman's yard along Old Route 322 through a locked gate and tried to enter her home.

Officers are seeking more information after someone entered a vacant Six Mile Road residence and stole a hot water tank.

Following a report of possible DUI in Osceola Mills, police searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
