PHILIPSBURG - A Philipsburg man was killed in a two-vehicle accident late Monday morning. According to state police at Clearfield, Harry Lego, 59, died in the crash.
A car driven by Anthony Kasper of Wellsville, N.Y., was traveling west on U.S. Route 322 near the American Diner and Lego was traveling east. Kasper turned left in front of Lego and Lego applied his brakes and was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway.
Kasper's vehicle was struck in the back by Lego's motorcycle.
Police said Lego died of head trauma. He was wearing a Department of Transportation-approved helmet. Kasper and a passenger, Janet McGirk of Osceola Mills, were wearing seat belts and were not hurt.
Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services, Hope and Reliance fire companies, all of Philipsburg, assisted police at the scene.
