SR 350 bridge replacement in Rush Township begins Monday
Saturday, July 13, 2013
SANDY RIDGE - The state Department of Transportation reminds area drivers that work to replace a bridge in Rush Township on state Route 350 will get under way Monday. When the work is complete, PennDOT will be able to remove the bridge from the list of structurally deficient bridges in Centre County. The new box culvert will provide area drivers with safer, more efficient travel across a modern structure.
The bridge spans Clover Run, north of the village of Sandy Ridge. The bridge was built in 1930 and is 16 feet long. The overall project will run through Aug. 20 and includes the installation of a new box culvert and paving work on the bridge approaches.
There will be a detour in place through July 30, with the remaining work done under traffic control. The detour utilizes SR 3049 (State Street/Edendale Road) and SR 3036 (Klondike Road/Phoenix Road) before returning to SR 350. Detour signage will be in place throughout the region to alert drivers to the closure. Local traffic will be able to access homes and businesses along SR 350 during this detour.
Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc., State College, is the contractor on this $443,000 job. Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
