PennDOT issues update on Blinker Parkway project
Saturday, July 13, 2013
DUBOIS - Work to improve the U.S. Route 119/322 "Blinker Parkway" intersection in Sandy Township is continuing, with an update noted below. When work completes late this year, area drivers will be able to travel through a wider intersection with improved visibility and enhanced safety.
Next week, drivers can expect that the contractor will shift the travel lanes onto the newly paved areas; complete paving of widened areas; begin excavation and drainage work for the next phase of construction.
Drivers can expect travel delays as the travel lane change occurs. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers at the U.S. 322/119 intersection.
PennDOT reminds drivers to be cautious, watch for slow moving and stopped vehicles through the work zone, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
Overall work will include construction of turning lanes, roadway widening, slight roadway realignment, drainage improvements, new curbing and sidewalk, curb ramps, and traffic signal upgrades.
All work is weather and schedule dependent. Work is scheduled to end by early December this year. H.R.I. Inc., State College, is the contractor on this $1.3 million project.
