Wednesday, November 6, 2013
By Dianne Byers Staff Writer
GRAMPIAN - Penn Township Supervisors approved the 2014 proposed budget at yesterday's meeting. It contains no tax increase.
Next year's income expected in the general fund totals $157,727 and expenses, $171,139. The supervisors also expect to carry over a balance of $84,000 from 2013 to be added to the income total. The state road fund projects revenue of $98,852 and expenses of $103,371. Funds will also be carried over from 2013.
The spending plans will be available for inspection by making an appointment with Annette Prisk, township secretary/treasurer. She may be contacted at 236-2300.
The supervisors expect to adopt the 2014 budget at the board's December meeting.
The supervisors also awarded bids for 5,000 gallons of ultra-low-sulfur on-road diesel fuel and 2,000 gallons of 87 octane unleaded gasoline.
A proposal from William G. Satterlee and Sons Inc., Rochester Mills, was accepted from four offers received. The company's quote for diesel was $3.25 per gallon and for gasoline, $2.81 per gallon.
The supervisors also read a notice from the Clearfield County assessment office noting the township's assessed real estate valuation for 2014 is $7,567,521.
The supervisors have rescheduled the December meeting. It will be held Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. at the Penn Township municipal building near Grampian.
