Police search for missing man
Friday, November 22, 2013
OSCEOLA MILLS - Yesterday at 9 a.m., James Goss of Osceola Mills willingly left his residence on Curtin Street in his wheelchair without letting his family know his intended destination.
At 2:30 p.m. yesterday, Goss was seen in an area mainly traversed by all-terrain and off-road vehicles approximately two miles from his home. A witness who knows Goss asked him if he needed assistance, to which Goss replied "no."
Family reported him missing at 5:34 p.m. yesterday, and state police at Philipsburg, along with a police helicopter and Columbia Fire Co. of Osceola Mills, searched the area where the witness saw him, but he could not be found. The search ended late last night and continued this morning.
Goss is 6 feet tall and approximately 180 pounds with long curly gray hair and a bushy gray beard. He was last seen wearing a black toboggan hat, black sweater, jeans and black shoes. Goss is wheelchair dependent.
